Jan Clark - Managing Director
Jan set up EDS in 2016 having previously been employed at Nijhuis H2OK Ltd (2003-2016) and PDP Green Ltd (1997-2003).
He has a wealth of expertise in the delivery of infrastructure for new developments. His particular specialisms include advising on sustainable drainage, foul water disposal, highways and flood risk.
Jan has overseen the adoption of numerous highways and sewers and is always happy to advise clients on the most cost-effective way to secure the infrastructure needed to enable their development.
Flood risk and development has been a key specialism throughout Jan’s career. He has produced and overseen over 1000 flood risk assessments and has provided advice to developers in planning appeals and planning disputes where flood risk is an issue throughout the country.
Tim Sullivan – Director
Tim is a chartered engineer with over 30 years of experience in the water and civil engineering industry. He has a vast experience in the delivery of development infrastructure, production of flood risk assessments and dealing with surface and foul water schemes for all types of development.
John van den Heuvel – Senior Engineer
John is an experienced design engineer specialising in the delivery of development infrastructure including site roads and drainage. He has over 10 years of experience and can offer bespoke advise to clients on S38 and S278 agreements for highway adoption. In addition, John has dealt with numerous sewer adoption schemes under S104 agreements.
John is responsible for the detailed design of SuDS features as well as general Civil Engineering structures.
Erica Chick – Environmental Engineer
Erica is a key member of the EDS team, leading the way on flood risk assessments foul water drainage design and SuDS schemes for sites ranging from single dwellings to large industrial projects.
She is also experienced in dealing with Environmental Permits, planning conditions and carries out regular site investigation works.
In the office Erica undertakes drainage design work utilising AutoCAD software, and has designed gravity sewers, pump stations and sustainable drainage systems.
In cases where the extent of the floodplain needs to be defined Erica produces hydraulic models of rivers using HEC-RAS, with the results of this work informing development proposals.
Erica holds a Masters Degree in Geography and Geology and is a graduate member of CIWEM (Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management). She is working towards chartered status.
James Brooks – Graduate Engineer
James joined EDS in the summer of 2017 having completed a B.S.c. in Applied Geology. James is a keen member of the team and is quickly developing his design and reporting skills.

Joshua Munyard – Graduate Engineer
Joshua joined EDS in the Autumn of 2018 having completed a MRes in Applied Marine Science. Josh is a keen member of the team and is quickly developing his design and reporting skills.
